Gil Ferrari returns to OCHS
Gil Ferrari was on hand Saturday to watch Ocean City defeat Triton in boys basketball. Ferrari, from Brazil, was one of the stars of Ocean City's 1999 South Jersey champions. He is the only player in OCHS history to score 20 or more points in three different NJSIAA games during the same tournament. And he is the only player to get 20+ points and 20+ rebounds in the same tournament game. The 6-4 Ferrari shot 61 percent from the field during the 1998-99 season, his only one as an Exchange student.
After graduating from OCHS, Ferrari played college basketball at SUNY before returning to Brazil, where he continued playing. He is back in New Jersey to complete training as an account executive for Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick.
