An All Star Saturday Summary

It was a full day of basketball at Ocean City High School today.

Two high school all star games completed the five-game All Star Saturday. In the Just Four Wheels Girls Classic,  the National Conference girls defeated the American Conference, 63-39, led by Pleasantville's Aminah Davis, the game's MVP with 20 points, on 7-for-12 shooting.

In the Ocean City Home Bank Dixie Howell Memorial Classic, the American team rallied behind 22 points and 18 rebounds by Atlantic City's Darnell Davis to capture a 95-79 victory.

Trey Severs of Ocean City was the boys three-point winner, defeating Mainland's Greg Gillespie in a tiebreaking round. Caitlin Ambrose of Sacred Heart won the girls three-point contest. Severs then beat Ambrose, 12-8, in the Showdown Shootout.

In the Ocean City PBA Legends Game, an alumni game between Ocean City and Mainland, the Mustangs used 18 points by MVP Bill Adamson to win, 85-70. Adamson made 7 of 10 shots, including 4 of 5 three-pointers. OC's Dave Beyel had 30 points, hitting 6 of 9 three-pointers, and grabbed 17 boards.

In the At The Top 8th Grade Doubleheader, the CA-Jr Girls blasted Barnegat, 69-14, with MVP Tenisha Mobley of Pleasantville scoring 14 points. She is headed to Holy Spirit next year. Emily Collins of Barnegat won the halftime foulshooting contest, making 16 of 20.

In the At The Top 8th Grade Boys Game, the CA-Jr Stars were 79-37 winners over the Camden County CYO All Stars. MVP Laquay Elliot of Galloway Middle scored nine of his 12 points in the first half. He is headed to Holy Spirit. The halftime foulshooting contest went to Tom Fisher of Camden County, who made 18 of 20.

Earlier in the day, Wildwood Catholic's Anthony Raffa scored 19 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and made 8 assists to earn MVP honors at the Carino All Star Game at Rutgers-Camden.

And so, the 2006-07 high school basketball season officially went into history.
