Ocean City Loses in State Boys Soccer Final
With just seven minutes left in a defensive battle at The College of New Jersey, Rob Santiniello of Ramapo blasted a 35-yard goal that decided the NJSIAA State Group 3 boys soccer championship.
Ramapo's 1-0 victory over Ocean City ended the Raiders' season with a 23-1-1 record. They were trying to win their third state title in five years and sixth overall. The game-winning shot was the only shot on goal by either team in the second half and one of only four or five in the game.
OCHS ends up as the South Jersey Group 3 champion, South Jersey Coaches Invitational champion, Cape-Atlantic League American Conference champion and likely No. 1 ranked team in the final South Jersey rankings.
