No NJSIAA Group Changes For CAL Public Schools

All Cape-Atlantic League public schools will remain in the same groups for NJSIAA competition next year.

The enrollment figures announced by the state association will keep all public schools from the CAL in the same groups for 2008-09. The Non-Public groups have not been released, still waiting for enrollment figures from some schools.

Though the CAL schools will compete in the same groups in most sports (football and some other specific sport groupings have not been released) there are some changes that will effect the competition.

For example, Group 2 has become tougher. Both Camden and Woodrow Wilson have dropped from Group 3 to Group 2. Willingboro has returned to South Jersey from Central Jersey but in Group 2. And Barnegat has also dropped from Group 3 to Group 2. Gloucester Tech also moved into Group 2.

Group 3 has some strong, new faces for next year. Triton, Lacey and Winslow Township have all dropped from Group 4 to Group 3. Manchester and Jackson Liberty have moved from Group 2 up to Group 3.

In addition, both Gateway and Glassboro have dropped from Group 2 into Group 1.
