Bill Hiltner Is New AD At St. Joseph
Bill Hiltner, a graduate of Atlantic City High School and former basketball coach at Millville, has retured to the Cape-Atlantic League.
Just six weeks after retiring as Sterling High School's athletics director, a position he'd held for 14 years, Hiltner has agreed to become the new AD at St. Joseph. He succeeds Bob McCluskey, who retired to concentrate on other duties at the school.
Hiltner won 523 games in 29 years as a boys basketball coach, including 50 in five seasons at Millville. He also coached the mens basketball team at Atlantic Cape Community College.
Hiltner's appointment is the latest AD change in the CAL in the past 12 months. Scott Lodgek left Absegami and replaced Frank Riggitano at Middle Township. Steve Fortis was later selected to succeed Lodgek at Gami. Don Robbins left Oakcrest and replaced Robin Daplyn at Vineland. Paul LeFever retired at Ocean City and was succeeded by Chris Lentz. And Keith Gorman replaced Lee Westenberger at Holy Spirit.
And there is one more to be completed. Brian Currie was brought in from Toms River to take over for Robbins at Oakcrest but he left within six months and has not yet been replaced.
