Nine CAL Football Teams Set For Playoffs


The NJSIAA football playoffs fields are set for Cape-Atlantic League teams.

After Eastern defeated Winslow tonight and Toms River East defeated Jackson, the final match-ups were set in Groups 3 and 4.

In Group 4, Mainland will host Eastern and Washington Township will host Williamstown. The winners will meet Nov. 21 in the semifinals. As will the winners of the other two games - Egg Harbor Township at Cherokee and Southern at Toms River North.

In Group 3, Shawnee will host Timber Creek and Triton will be at Brick Township, the winners meeting on Nov. 21. And Lacey will be at Ocean City and Cumberland at Hammonton with the winners advancing to play each other.

Among other games involving CAL teams, Bridgeton will be at Buena in Group 2, Holy Spirit will be at Immaculata in Non-Public 3, St. Augustine will visit Notre Dame in Non-Public 4 - all next weekend. And St. Joseph will visit Hudson Catholic on Nov. 22.

These pairings are unofficial until the NJSIAA Executive Committee approves all the playoff lineups on Monday. All teams that did not qualify for the playoffs will be assigned consolation games.
