Names such as Howard(Mickey)Smith, Bert Avis, Walter Buckhoults, Ellis Ford Sr, Thomas Selby, Cut Renalds, Wayne Thompson, Ed Keenan, John Henry, Bob Moncrief, Nate Davis, Bernard Carter, and my self were omitted. Why not mention the first State Title in any sport for OCHS was won by the 1954-55 basketball team, which I was member of. As a matter of fact I was the third or fourth leading scorer on the team. Made Honorable Mention on the All Cape Atlantic League AllStar Team. I think you should use sources other than Richard Grimes to determine the contributions of the athletes from the westside. Check the record books for OCHS to determine the contributions the above named individuals made to enhance the strong sports programs of the school.

Respectfully,
Ted Ford

Comment on Red & White Weekend Coming For OCHS Alumni

Great article Tom, hope to see you then

Comment on Parents and Coaches - Part 2

Tom,
Brilliant piece on parent-coach relationships. As you may be aware, my wife coached for fifteen years. She did not have anyone that had her back like you. I truly hope that parents will get it. Every coach I have ever played for, met, coached my five children or in my case I live with, do it because they love the players and love the game. You should be commended for getting the message out. Congratulations on a great and very interesting piece,
Tom

Comment on Are Parents Making It Tougher To Coach High School Sports

Tom,

Good Job on this.

Comment on Are Parents Making It Tougher To Coach High School Sports

Tom, regarding your story on parents and high school coaches... thank you, thank you, thank you.

I can only hope that a few athletic directors are reading the piece as well...

Comment on Tom Feraco Named To Hall of Fame

Congratulations to him.
